“All you need is love, love is all you need”, this song was created by The Beatles. Their movement was to spread peace, love, and awareness after the war. This was a time of grieving, reconstruction, and celebration of the war being over. The Beatles did many great things in their time, one of the most important was the spread of love. It is true that all you need is love. Love is power. The Beatles’ love still lives on through their music and will for generations to come. They are a perfect example of the potency of love.
I watched a social experiment made by Shea Glover on youtube. She did a social experiment at her high school by placing each student in front of the camera and then told them the purpose of her experiment. The purpose was to take a video of something beautiful. After she told each student that he or she was beautiful their faces lit up! The beauty came out of each and every one of them. To give someone love and light is to truly pull out and show them what already exists within them. Give a heartfelt compliment to someone and witness their reaction. Watch their beauty illuminate in their smile.
Many people live in fear. Fear of what others think of them. Fear of being rejected. Fear of being their true selves. Fear of abandonment. Fear for the sake of fear. The list goes on. The only thing in this lifetime that can fight fear is love. Love is fearless. The power that love holds is unbreakable. The greatest gift you can give someone is love, compassion, empathy, understanding, all of which are a part of love. How can we use love to dispel fear in our lives?
Once we let go of our fears, we can experience the purity of love and light in our lives. We are set free to our own imagination of life. Each of our lives are different, not only in our race, gender, height, size, weight but we each have our own perspective on life. Choose to view your life with love and light. Choose to guide yourself from your heart. You have the choice to view your life however you want to! There is a magical experience when we start to view ourselves as love. Just like in Shea’s experiment, you are beauty. You are beautiful! Yes, YOU.
I want to challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Make the affirmation to yourself saying, “I am beautiful”, “I am enough”, “I am special”, “I am one of a kind”, “I am a precious gem”, “I am perfect just the way I am”, “I AM BEAUTIFUL”, and “I love you.” I challenge you to do this everyday until you believe this truth. The truth is that you are beautiful. You are enough. You are perfect just the way you are. Give yourself love. Yes, you need to give yourself love. No matter who you are I love you. I am grateful for your existence. You are beauty. You are love. Love is all you need.
