Dea Jacobson is an RYT 500 certified Yoga Alliance member and has been teaching in Western Colorado since 1996. Her training has been in the Iyengar and Anusara styles, and she has studied with many internationally known teachers, including Angela Farmer, Donna Farhi, Eric Schiffman, Judith Lasater, and Elise Miller, as well as dear friends Anthony Bogart and Joanne Connington. A member of the International Association of Yoga Therapy (IAYT), she works with doctors to treat patients with chronic pain. Her specialty has been working with auto injury and workers compensation claims for over 10 years. Her successes in receiving payment from insurance companies have been described in the IAYT Journal and are available on her website. Private lessons are offered either as home visits or in studios in Grand Junction, Delta, and Cedaredge. Group classes are held in Grand Junction and in Cedaredge. There are at two levels: gentle or restorative for mature beginners and those with arthritis, injuries, or special needs, and a moderate level to increase agility and balance. Dea is available to set up workplace programs for prevention of occupational injuries and can help with on-site classes for employee wellness. She treats private clients with back pain, sciatica, and carpal tunnel syndrome, in cancer treatment, and with breathing and nervous system issues. Lifestyle and spiritual counseling can also be provided.
